Tobacco, or rather nicotine, is one of the most addictive and dangerous legal drugs. It is a piscostimulating and carcinogenic substance that causes enormous physical and psychological dependence. The pandemic and the sanitary measures of captivity, forced to look for innovative ways to conduct research in this area, and to conduct another type of approach via social networks – especially Facebook® – which in this case was new in the elderly population, since they did not find any other studies on drug use that used this technique. However, there are a large number of substances that fall within this type of classification, and not all of them are illegal (although this does not mean that they are harmless and that their use or abuse can have serious consequences). What are legal drugs and what types are there? In this article, we will discuss it. When analyzing the depressive symptom indicator, it was found that 13.94% had severe symptoms, 47.89% had mild symptoms and 38.15% had no symptoms. Associated with drug use at some point in life (n = 368), 53 had symptoms of major depression, 174 had mild symptoms, and 141 had no symptoms. The results of the research were consistent with the literature reviewed and agreed that drug use among older adults was a common practice.3, 5, 11, 12 They also agree with the literature that identifies tobacco, alcohol, benzodiazepines and marijuana as the most commonly used substances in this age group4, 5, 6. Many of these drugs are labeled “unfit for human consumption,” so those who sell and supply them can flout the law and avoid liability for negative consequences or risks. Some of them are legally used in industry and animal care. Are all medications the same? Surely you know that there are many types of drugs and they have different effects or consequences on the brain and body. 50.26% were women; median age was 6.79 years (SD = 5.81 years); 31.05% have consumed alcohol in the past 30 days, 22.63% tobacco, sedatives without a prescription 16.05% and marijuana 7.89%.

The use of other illicit drugs did not exceed 2.6 per cent of the population. Comparing consumers and non-consumers, it was found that consumption in the past 30 days was slightly higher among women and singles and that no difference was observed by educational level. Symptoms of mild and severe depression have been found to be associated with all drugs except tobacco and opiates. But remember that there are certain substances that are legal in our country and that are also drugs (because when taken, they cause changes in our brain) such as tobacco, alcohol, drugs. But it`s important to remember that they`re not always legal. Tobacco and alcohol are illegal for children under the age of 18. Is alcohol a drug? What about tobacco? Joints, marijuana, alcohol, ecstasy. More and more drugs are appearing and I`m not sure what everyone is doing. Alcohol already knows what it does, and some make you more active, with others you laugh, others leave you dizzy.

The truth is that knowing the effects of everything is a story. But I would like to, because then I will know better if my daughter takes them or not. Tobacco is another of the most widely used drugs in the world, and although the legislation of many countries prohibits smoking in some rooms, it is not forbidden to smoke or market nicotine products (especially tobacco). It is a substance that may seem relaxing to experienced smokers, but it is actually a psychostimulant whose main mechanism of action lies in acetylcholine. Psychotropic drugs, and in reality all types of drugs, are a substance that can be considered a legal drug (this is not for nothing, drugs in English refer to both the concept of the drug and the drug) by creating a change in the patient`s nervous system (in the case of other drugs not associated with psychiatry, change the chemistry of other parts of the body). In principle, the use of these drugs is medical, which is why they are legal. However, many gain addiction and are even used wisely in some cases to try to improve their own skills or free time. As far as we know, there are several hundred such drugs. Among them are: Of course, as we indicated in the introduction that they are legal, this does not mean that they do not represent a danger, because the abuse and / or abuse of them is very dangerous and harmful to health and can cause serious diseases or even lead to death. Risks – Most legal drugs are first tested on animals, but ecstasy users are guinea pigs. Research shows that normal weekend consumers experience a “crisis” during the week that makes them very tired and depressed, often for days. It will take us years to know the long-term effects, but some users may be at risk of developing mental health problems later in life.

Deaths from ecstasy are quite rare, but they can be due to heat stroke, heart attacks, or asthma attacks. Ecstasy is usually produced in secret laboratories in some European countries. It is usually sold in pills that have different logos or designs drawn. Sometimes ecstasy pills may contain other drugs and substances. These drugs are psychoactive substances, which means they change thinking, feelings, and behavior. Its effects on mental health are unpredictable and there is a high risk of addiction. The variables of the study were: (a) socio-demographic; b) the use of legal and illicit drugs at any time of life and in the last 30 days and c) depressive symptoms assessed on the Yesavaggio GDS scale, which classifies it in the ranges: 0 to 5 normal, 6 to 9 mild and more than 10 moderate/ severe10. Many of these drugs can be legally purchased in bars, tobacconists, pharmacies or medical centers.

Some are consumed to provide a relaxing and calming effect or simply as a stimulant. But they all have one thing in common, and that is that their abuse or excessive use can have consequences as serious as illegal drugs. The results show the need to make drug use visible in older adults and to develop strategies that reduce mood swings they may experience, such as anxiety, anxiety and depression. The pandemic forced a change in the form of participant recruitment, so there was no certainty about the exclusive participation of older adults, which was a limitation of the study, which should be repeated in person if possible. However, this article collects the reported use of several drugs in a certain population of older people, the Facebook user®, during a period that can significantly affect the outcome during detention. It is important to consider these factors when interpreting the results. Another limitation to consider is that, since this study was drawn from a line of research developed at the Institute of Health Sciences of the Universidad Veracruzana (Mexico) entitled Research on Drug Demand Reduction, indicators of comorbidity, other treatments or geriatric evaluation of the participating population were not included. However, it is also important to note that the results obtained open up a working perspective on drug use in the elderly, which will certainly include these study variables in the near future. There are many legal drugs that exist that can be used differently by the population. Some use it as a recreational element, while in other cases, users intend to benefit from the relaxing or exciting effects of the substance in question or use it to forget or reduce some kind of physical or emotional pain.
