“There`s a sense of innovation in the broader legal community and there`s so much fear and skepticism, and I`m trying to bring a little more deeply felt optimism,” says Anna. It`s no secret that the legal industry is rooted in tradition and ingrained structures, and so, in her own words, Anna`s mission is to make the law different. “Especially in the legal industry, there`s not a lot of discussion about fear. In daily discussions, lawyers would not let their reservations be called fears. They would call it risks. “We focus on innovation and digitalization to ensure that we serve the company with its legal requirements in a cutting-edge manner. Teresa Galgo is an expert in intellectual property. She began her career as a legal assistant at Grupo Renault and joined the intellectual property department of Bird & Bird in 2017. In 2018, she was hired as an IP attorney by BAYLOS, the renowned IP and litigation shop, from where she now joins the Paris-based French personal care company as legal counsel in Spain. “I didn`t appreciate the level of emotion I would feel if I gave the green light to present myself that way,” she says. As her team leader at L`Oréal, one of Anna`s top priorities has been to ensure that the team maximizes the use of technology and makes it a user-friendly experience. “As a service provider, a seamless experience of routine tasks is really important to me.
So if they [the entire L`Oréal team] can do the work they need from us, 24/7, from their devices, that`s more than we can provide as humans. She is a woman on a mission. And from what we can see, it`s not just the law that will feel Anna Lozynski`s influence. “If you`re honest with yourself, as with everything else you`re doing new in life, one of the reasons you might not embrace innovation and change is fear.” I asked Anna the classic question: How did you do all this? She began writing at night, on the plane and on weekends. But when I talked to Anna, she skipped all the “juggling.” Instead, she honestly said that she sometimes got in her way. “I had to prefer progress to perfection. I knew I had to stop editing content because it was becoming frustrating for my graphic designer to constantly change structure and paragraphs. Generalist advisor focused on commercial and technical affairs to various business units in various practice areas: dispute resolution, IP and sponsorship, commercial contracts, competition, compliance, advertising and content, CSR and reputation, IT, e-commerce, digital and privacy. The next question that comes to mind is how we can change that. How can we even know if we are constantly resisting? Since I spoke to Anna, I`ve looked at her website, she`s had three other free publications available, and is a guest lecturer at Monash University (with her e-book as required reading). With a rich and diverse experience gained in two local law firms, then as head of the audit and consulting firm Deloitte, he dedicated his work to the rapid evolution of the cosmetics market in Switzerland in connection with the EEA and became a specialist in distribution and competition law. Easy, right? We think so.
But the bigger question is that if it seems so clear from the outside, why is there still resistance from the inside? Don`t be led into believing that all of this happened without their own challenges or obstacles. In writing her ebook, Anna had to reconcile this as soon as she put her ideas in a public space subject to public criticism (and people did!). “I knew I was thwarting progress by constantly reworking it to bring it into the world. I`m not going to look for a Booker prize, it just had to be clear, tell an understandable story, be on the brand, but not be perfect.
