Central Ohio Primary Care Physicians is seeking a Patient Services Representative to join our Olentangy Radiology office in Columbus, OH. The Patient Service Representative is a key point of contact for patients, providing patients and guests with a positive customer service experience from the beginning to the end of their visit. This position works closely with patients, clinical teams, and offices to accurately verify, collect ID and insurance cards, receive signatures and co-payment/deductible, and verify. Responsibilities include ensuring a rapid flow of patients to examination rooms, reporting delays to patients and/or medical teams, and operating the reception. The Patient Services Representative ensures that patient satisfaction targets are met or exceeded. This is a full-time position that operates Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the first shift. To be successful as a patient advocate, you must be able to facilitate and coordinate communication between patients, family members, and medical staff. • Communicate regularly with clinical staff to ensure patient and practice needs are met. Work with the team to create a positive patient experience. • Respond to telephone calls and email inquiries from patients and COPC administrative services in a timely manner; Route or escalate requests as needed. Contact patients for appointment reminders or appointments.

Patient representatives are employed in medical institutions and practices. You can work in acute care hospitals, rehabilitation centres, qualified care facilities or clinics. They can be used in the offices of family doctors, specialists, dentists, optometrists, physiotherapists or chiropractors. We are looking for an organized patient representative for our medical practice. Depending on the state you live in and the specific employer you want to work for, there may be additional training and requirements to become a patient service representative. In most cases, applicants for this job must undergo a background check as well as a drug test prior to hiring, as these steps are required for employment in virtually any clinical or health care setting.

As a patient service representative, your responsibilities include planning, record keeping, processing co-payments, and reviewing insurance coverage. While there are generally minimum educational requirements for career, some employers or states may require applicants to take training through an associate`s degree or post-secondary certificate program. You can also earn professional certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) to demonstrate your skills and gain a competitive advantage. Additional qualifications include excellent communication, customer service and computer skills. • Ensure patient data privacy and stay up-to-date on HIPAA regulations. When you earn a BS Health Services Administration degree from Bryant & Stratton College, you`ll gain the knowledge and skills you need to succeed as a patient services representative.
