The internship program is a collaborative process involving the Governor`s Office, the Maine Office of Human Resources, many Maine state government agencies, local governments, and state and municipal employees who act as internal supervisors. The program is administered by the MCS Policy Center at the University of Maine. Understanding the basics of money management helps young people make more confident and informed financial decisions as adults. Through programs such as Chase Chats, community events, and partnerships with people like Kevin Hart, Serena Williams, Stephen Curry and others, we provide financial health content and learning opportunities specifically for teens. We also offer tools to help you with the basics of money, like how to save, create a budget, and understand how credit works. For more information, see www.chase.com/student. We advise the firm on complex legal matters, including new product development, transaction negotiations, corporate governance, shareholder affairs, regulatory matters and more. We are also a leader in advocacy and advocacy work to protect the company. We are encouraged and supported in providing pro bono services in our communities. As a member of our legal team, you will provide legal advice and support to the firm`s activities, advise clients and help the firm comply with laws, regulations and our own standards for doing business. In addition, each year we welcome more than 3000 trainees and apprentices to help them gain experience in the workplace and develop new skills. From the 2020 internship class identify as black, Hispanic, or Asian,” students benefit from internships seeing law in motion as they learn to bring together the substantial legal knowledge they gain in class to solve real-world legal problems. Students also learn what it means to be a practicing professional and what the day-to-day work of lawyers looks like. The Scholarship Program is a six-week pre-internship program designed to familiarize young Black talent with financial services and professional development, with the goal of converting participants to a JPMC internship the following year. A position that includes legal responsibility can be in virtually any law-related environment authorized by Professor Jennifer Kinsley, Director of the Field Placement Program. For example, students completed internships with municipal lawyers, non-profit organizations, government agencies, legal aid offices, law firms, prosecutors, corporate law departments, attorneys general, and state and federal judges. Most of the interns are housed in the Augusta area. Students interested in internships outside of Augusta should mention this in their cover letter. There will be a number of municipal internships throughout the state; Locations include Houlton, Gray, Bethel, Union, Bridgton, Saco, Auburn, Winthrop, Wiscasset, Portland, Old Town, Bath and others. Students and supervisors apply at the same time. The Internship Selection Committee reviews the applications and makes the final selection by identifying the students who best meet the requirements of each position.

The candidate`s training, skills and interests as well as his/her previous professional experience in relation to the requirements of the available internships are taken into account. Day schools cover a range of experiences, including legal research, creating documents and memoranda, creating practical databases, and, for students with limited attorneys` licenses, appearing in court.
